This year we got married in the summer, and decided to stay closer to home. Our choice fell on amazing Norway, where we are currently exploring the fiords, glaciers, creeks, brooks, rivers, lakes, mountains, winding roads and friendly people.

2018
In 2018, we bought our Nissan Patrol 2008 Y61, only to be used for overlanding. We tested it during a month, driving to magical Albania through Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Macedonia and Greece. We also explored Croatia and Slovenia before going home via Austria, Czech Republic, and Poland.
Driving back to Sweden. “Only” about 3000 km…

We woke up in the morning, realizing we had been parked about 50 meters from a huge beach. (Well, we heard the waves all night, but we didn’t actually park on the beach…) Driving home from Spain took 5 days. The first night we found a little forest close to Burgos. It was super […]
Last day in Morocco – returning to Europe

So, the day came when we were done with Africa for this time. We got up early as usual and drove via Chefchaouen – the Blue City – to Ceuta. Almost. Well, we got there, but the last kilometer into Ceuta (which is actually a Spanish enclave) took us 8 hours. We found out later […]
Fez (October 22-23)

After seeing vibrant Marrakesh we also wanted to see one of the most legendary, original and oldest cities, Fez. So, after a nice breakfast we drove to Fez (via the fast toll road passing Casablanca and Rabat). After a quick shopping stop in Carrefour, we found the camping place Diamant Vert conveniently located just a […]
Marrakesh, October 21

A day of relaxation and exploring! We spent the morning by the camping site pool. (Relais de Marrakesh). Around lunchtime we headed into downtown Marrakesh and the old Medina. We parked by an old mosque and ventured into the Jemaa el Fnaa square and onwards. Some person guided us to the tanneries of Marrakesh, we […]
Foum Zguid to Marrakesh October 20, 2017

We got up at sunrise as usual and spent the day driving through a winding mountain pass road over the Tizi N’Tichka pass via Ait Benhaddou. Wonderful views and lots of exercise for the steering wheel as well as the accelerator and brakes!
Mhamid to Foum Zguid (Oct 19)

After a good rest in Mhamid we set off though a second day in the Sahara. Highlights were of course the dunes of Erg Chigaga, the Sacred Oasis, and driving across the huge Lake Iriki, fortunately dry. If there has been rains, it can be horribly muddy we heard.
All six schools finished. Going south!
Yesterday we finished the last of the six schools! In six days! Thanks to a great team! Now vacation starts. Today we made it almost all the way to Merzouga. We stopped in Midelt for lunch (both for us and the car), where we also purchased some nice Moroccan carpets. Now at camp for the […]
Day 9 – Arriving in Morocco and driving to Ifrane

This must have been the longest day on the whole trip. We arrived in Tangiers Med around midnight. Getting off the ferry was a very chaotic experience and took more than an hour. Once out we thought all would be easy, but oooo no. First we apparently had forgotten to get a stamp on the […]
