We got up at sunrise as usual and spent the day driving through a winding mountain pass road over the Tizi N’Tichka pass via Ait Benhaddou. Wonderful views and lots of exercise for the steering wheel as well as the accelerator and brakes!
After a good rest in Mhamid we set off though a second day in the Sahara. Highlights were of course the dunes of Erg Chigaga, the Sacred Oasis, and driving across the huge Lake Iriki, fortunately dry. If there has been rains, it can be horribly muddy we heard.
We decided we liked Carrefour des Nomades so much that we just had to stay one more day and night. So October 18 was spent by the swimming pool. 🙂
